Structural Insulated Panels (SIPS) are fast becoming a homeowner's preference.  Many are choosing high efficiency structural panels over the conventional stick building process.  Porter SIPS can be used to produce a structurally superior, better insulated, faster to erect, and more environmentally friendly house than ever before possible.

Use Structural Insulated Panels for:  Exterior Walls and Roofs

Advantages of using Porter SIPS:

Energy Savings – SIP built structures are energy efficient. In a test conducted at Oakridge National Library, wood framed walls were compared to SIP constructed homes for energy efficiency. The nominal 4” SIP wall has an “R” factor 40% greater than a conventional w all.

Time/Labor Savings – SIP construction speeds the construction process and requires fewer labor hours than stick built. The ability to quickly provide a building envelope lengthens the building season in many parts of the country. Electrical chases and other details can be factory installed.

SIP construction offers an increased strength over stick-built or other wood construction. An added advantage is the OSB anchor base on the inside of the interior wall to attach window coverings and fixtures.

Environmentally friendly - SIPS require less virgin lumber than stick construction, and the EPS foam core can be recycled.
